How do I start?

Add Lumin to Claude as a connector and sign in with your email address. The Quickstart walks through it in five minutes. If you would rather hand setup to Claude, copy a prompt from Set up with a prompt.

What does it cost?

Every account gets 300 tool calls a month free, with no card. A complete reading uses 25 to 40 calls, so that covers roughly 7 to 12 readings. Past that, top-ups start at $1 for 400 calls and never expire.

Do I need my own API key?

Not for reading through Claude. The connector signs you in with your email address and needs no key. Developers calling the server from their own code use a Lumin API key from app.lumin.guru/api-keys. The Lumin web app at app.lumin.guru is also the one place that asks for an Anthropic key of your own.

How accurate is Lumin?

Lumin uses VSOP2013 for the planets and ELP/MPP02 for the Moon. The planets and the Moon are checked against JPL Horizons to under half an arcsecond across 1900 to 2050, starting from a clock time as a birth time does, and against observed sky events. The Placidus cusps are checked against their own defining equation and against Swiss Ephemeris, and the KP tables against the printed books. The figures, and what is still open, are on the benchmarks page. The weakest link is usually birth time precision, not the math.

Does it work without my exact birth time?

Yes, but with caveats. Without an exact time the cuspal sublord is uncertain, and several KP techniques depend on it. Use the birth time rectification tool with a few known life events to narrow it.

Why are some readings "mixed" instead of yes or no?

When the sublord of the event's cusp signifies both the houses that support the event and the houses that work against it, the verdict is MIXED ACTIVE. That is neither a yes nor a no. Krishnamurti holds that one result does not cancel the other, and each comes in the periods of its own planets. Whether the event itself comes is a weighing he made in prose, case by case, and in at least one case he judged against it. So Lumin shows you both sides and the planets behind each, and does not settle it with a number.

Will Lumin replace a human astrologer?

Lumin is a strong second opinion and a faster first pass. For complex questions, especially those involving relationships, working with a human astrologer who knows your circumstances is still valuable. But the math layer is no longer the bottleneck.

My reading feels off, what do I do?

Check the birth data first (date format, timezone, latitude/longitude). If those are right, run birth time rectification against two or three known life events. That fixes most "feels wrong" readings.
