Why multi-lineage

For a personalization recommendation engine, multi-lineage is strictly better than single-school. Each tradition asks different questions of the same chart and produces different signals. A matrimonial platform wants a 36-point Ashta Koota score because that is what Indian families look at; a career coach wants Jaimini's Amatyakaraka because that names the soul's professional tool; a wellness app wants Ayurvedic prakriti.

Lumin gives consumers all four traditions as labelled, separable signals. A consumer can choose to surface only KP, only Vedic, or any combination, the lineage tag in each tool's description makes the choice transparent.

Lineage taxonomy

The axis is the system field every tool carries, and the counts below are read off it at build time rather than written into this page. Six values, from the orthodox core outward.

• KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati). The depth specialty and the brand promise. Cuspal Sub Lord verdicts, ruling planets, sub-lord theory, 1-249 horary, the advanced techniques. 136 tools. Orthodox Krishnamurti Paddhati. Safe to state as a KP finding.
• KP-extended. Bosmia significators, the Four Step and KCIL verdicts, stellar dasha bifurcation, the cross-school multi-system verdict. 16 tools. KP built on by a named later author rather than by KSK. Still KP; attribute it when it carries the verdict.
• Vedic Parashari. Classical BPHS yogas and doshas, the divisional charts D2 through D60, Shadbala, Bhava Bala, Vimsopaka Bala, Sade Sati, and the daily-timing canon of Choghadiya, Hora and Tara Bala. 55 tools. Parashari, not KP. Cross-system reference. Never fold into a KP verdict without saying which system it came from.
• Jaimini. Chara Karakas, Arudha Lagna, Upapada Lagna, Karakamsa, Ishta Devata, Chara Dasha. 7 tools. Jaimini, not KP. Cross-system reference, same rule.
• Tajik. The Persian-influenced annual chart canon: Varshaphala and the Sahams. 3 tools. Tajik annual technique, not KP. Cross-system reference, same rule.

How to read a tool’s lineage

Read the system field. It is on every one of the 218 tools, a tool without one fails the build, and get_tool_catalog filters on it at runtime.

Do not read the bracketed prefix some descriptions carry, [Vedic Parashari adjunct] and the like. Only 44 descriptions have one against 82 non-KP tools, the same fact was spelled three different ways across them, and prose cannot be grouped on. The field replaced them and the catalog strips them when it renders a description.

A B2B integrator filters on the field. This is where the trust half of the platform is actually spent: the math is Lumin's own, every tool computes from scratch with no third-party astrology library, and the system field tells the consumer which school's math is being shown, so a claim is never presented as KP when its rule came from somewhere else.

Where KP and Vedic disagree, present BOTH

KP Reader 4 explicitly rejects Porutham (the 36-pt Vedic match). Yet we ship get_ashta_koota_milan alongside get_compatibility_advanced (KP-rigorous 6-CSL-factor) because matrimonial-platform consumers expect both. The composite workflow run_kundli_match_complete emits a cross-system concordance verdict (STRONG / PARTIAL / DIVERGENT) so the consumer sees where the schools agree and where they diverge.

Same pattern for marriage, career, children: KP gives the CSL verdict, Vedic gives the divisional-chart verdict, Jaimini gives the karaka verdict. Higher concordance = stronger prediction. Lower concordance = surface the disagreement, never hide it.
