What changed in Lumin

Material changes to the Lumin MCP server, engine, and tool surface. Each change is tagged for everyday users, developers, or both. Internal refactors that do not affect the protocol or schemas are not listed.

v4.2.0

2026-05-28Latest

Multi-school KP additions, 14 new tools

144 tools to 158. Lumin now reads across four KP schools side by side: orthodox KP, Khullar KCIL, Hariharan 4-Step, and Kanak Bosmia 6-fold. New rectification axioms, sub-sub-lord precision tooling, mundane ingress charts, a probabilistic event-firing engine, and a fifth ayanamsa option.

  • For users

Lumin can now answer event questions with a cross-school consensus, like 'all four schools agree' or 'KP yes, KCIL mixed'. New questions you can ask: how Khullar's weighted formula scores your chart for an event, whether your birth time passes Andrew Dutta's Rule of Origin rectification check, and how a twin's chart diverges from yours on a single 0-100 scale.

  • For usersFor developers

14 new tools, grouped by theme.

  • For developers

14 new engine endpoints back the tools. Khullar ayanamsa added to validators across the chart pipeline, so any existing tool can now be called with ayanamsa set to khullar.

  • For developers

Multi-system verdict tool is the headline addition. Pass a chart and an event, get back four normalized verdicts and a consensus level (UNANIMOUS, STRONG, MIXED, or SPLIT). Use it as a defensible cross-school headline instead of any single school alone.

  • For usersFor developers

All four schools agree only when the chart is unambiguous. Most charts return MIXED on something, which is itself a signal. The per-school breakdown shows which lineage's logic disagrees and why.

v4.1.0

KP Astrometeorology, 4 weather prediction tools

140 tools to 144. Lumin can now read the weather, the astrological tradition's seasonal forecast, cast for a place and a moment rather than a birth. Seasonal outlooks, two-week windows, and monsoon onset, drawn from cardinal ingress charts, the Sapta Nadi Chakra, and the KP 4th-cusp sub-lord.

  • For users

Ask Lumin to read the weather of a season, a two-week window, a monsoon onset, or a single moment, for any place on Earth. Every reading shows its working, the same as any other Lumin answer.

  • For usersFor developers

4 new astrometeorology tools. Unlike every tool before them, these take a location and date, not birth data, so no birth profile is needed.

  • For developers

The method reads three traditions together: Western astrometeorology supplies the cardinal ingress and lunation charts, the Vedic Sapta Nadi Chakra and Ardra Pravesha supply the rainfall instruments, and the KP 4th-cusp sub-lord supplies a single traceable verdict point.

  • For developers

4 new engine endpoints back the tools. The computation engine can now cast a chart for any place and moment, not only for a birth.

  • For usersFor developers

Every astrometeorology response carries a plain-language disclaimer. This is the astrological tradition's seasonal read, not a meteorological forecast, and not a substitute for an official weather service.

62 new tools + 8 composite workflows

78 tools to 140. Lumin now spans KP, Vedic Parashari, Jaimini, and Tajik from one MCP, plus 8 atomic composite workflows.

  • For usersFor developers

62 new tools, grouped by lineage and domain.

  • For usersFor developers

8 composite workflow tools bundle 5-15 sub-calls into atomic recipes, one round-trip per reading.

  • For developers

Expert reading patterns from senior practitioners (KSK, K.N. Rao, Sanjay Rath) baked into the orchestration prompt.

  • For developers

Each non-KP tool carries a lineage tag like [Vedic Parashari], [Jaimini], or [Tajik] in its description, so B2B integrators can filter by tradition.

  • For developers

All tool descriptions standardized to Anthropic MCP best practices: inline term definitions, return-shape documentation, cross-references between related tools.

v3.0.0

2026-05-02

May 2026 sweep, 27 new domain tools

27 new MCP tools across health, marriage, career, decisions, outcome predictions, methodology utilities, and specialty use cases. Engine endpoints grew from 50 to 78. Per-tool reference pages auto-generated.

  • For users

New question types you can now ask Lumin, grouped by domain.

  • For developers

    Engine endpoints: 50 to 78. MCP tools: 49 to 77. Auto-generated per-tool reference pages at /build/reference/tools/<slug>.

  • For developers

Engine quality and orthodoxy improvements across longevity, surgery, hour-and-minute timing, horary, dasha, combustion, and rectification paths. Verdicts and confidence levels can shift on the same chart input. This is intentional.

  • For developers

Tool descriptions tightened across the 27 new tools for narrower intent matching by the LLM.

v2.0.0

2026-04-01

Methodology v2 and 14 advanced techniques

v2 methodology tools active by default with 3-lock dasha, ruling-planet filtering, transit hierarchy, and Moon-connectivity validation for horary. 14 advanced technique tools added.

  • For users

Event timing and horary now run on stricter v2 logic by default. Predictions are more conservative but stand up to verification.

  • For developers

v2 methodology tools active by default: find_event_timing_v2 (3-lock dasha + RP filtering + transit hierarchy) and get_horary_chart_v2 (Moon connectivity validation).

  • For developers

New methodology helpers: get_fruitful_significators and get_transit_timing_hierarchy.

  • For developers

14 advanced technique tools added: CSL convergence, retrograde, dasha, transit, RP, horary, medical, financial, foreign settlement, marriage, career, legal, muhurta, and rectification.

  • For developers

Deprecated v1 finders removed from the public surface. Callers receive a clear error pointing to the v2 replacements.

  • For developers

All 49 engine-backed tools available on the public MCP endpoints (50 with the set_birth_profile meta-tool). OAuth 2.1 endpoints live at mcp.lumin.guru/mcp/auth. Anonymous tier set to 50 calls per day per IP.

v1.0.0

2026-03-31

Public release

Initial public release of the Lumin MCP server at mcp.lumin.guru. 33 KP tools, anonymous + API key auth, Streamable HTTP transport.

  • For users

Lumin is now publicly available. Connect from Claude or any MCP-compatible client. 50 free calls per day per IP, no account required.

  • For developers

Initial public release of the Lumin MCP server at mcp.lumin.guru. 33 KP tools exposed (including original v1 finders, replaced in v2).

  • For developers

Anonymous and API key auth modes. OAuth not yet available. Streamable HTTP transport, stateless per-request server lifecycle.

How to read this

Lumin uses a single-version model. When a tool is deprecated, it is removed from the published tool list within one minor release, and existing callers get a clear error directing them to the replacement. We do not maintain parallel v1 and v2 surfaces indefinitely.
